To wait
You left me there to wait
In the rain
In the cold
At night
You left me there to wait
I told you what would happen if you didn’t show
I would hate you
You didn’t come
Why is it so hard to listen when told?
My anger and frustration turned to venomous animosity
An acrid taste permeates through my mouth
I suffered, alone
Soon caustic words melted away, and washed up expressionless phrases and gestures
As my hand reaches, you brushed me aside, without a second glance
As you left me there to wait
In the rain
In the cold
At night
You left me there to wait
