The Dark

Before I knew safety,
I was Afraid.
The shadows silently slithering,
The moon a menacing madman,
The Fear.
Now, in Adolescence,
I am Fearless.
The gentle gloom,
The soft, shining satellite,
The Calm.
A growl in the Night,
Dark and Deep.
Fear! Again!
The talons, Tearing and Thrashing!
The Blood, bathing the bed!
The Silence…
