I'd write you a poem
If it would mean anything
I hope it would
But then again what do I know?
I'd write you a story
And it would be called "ours"
But I feel it wouldn't make a difference
Because you'd ignore it
I'd write you a novel
And publish it for all to read
And I think they'd understand
The way I feel for you
More than you'd ever care to try to comprehend
I will write for you until the day I die
Hoping that finally you'll see these words
As more than characters on a page
A waste of ink and paper
And see what it truly is for what it truly means
And you'll love me for me.
If it would mean anything
I hope it would
But then again what do I know?
I'd write you a story
And it would be called "ours"
But I feel it wouldn't make a difference
Because you'd ignore it
I'd write you a novel
