My metal heart holds the key to my past,

an eternity of memories,

of the summer we spent together,

happy and sad, laughter and tears.

My metal heart,

Memories of old make space for memories of new,

Of twilight nights, just me and you.

Dancing by the lake and laying on the beach,

When we were young and free.

You were my king and I was your queen,

and we danced through the night,

young and wild, happy and carefree.

Day turned into weeks and weeks into months,

and the summer of my life seemed to never end.

But nothing lasts forever,

and when the summer ended you seemed to forget about me,

and you drifted away from me,

but memories of that summer,

will always be safe,

locked up inside my metal heart.
