Memories
Memories
When they’re all you have
What do you do when they’re gone
When they leave you in the dark
With sorrow in your heart
Death beating down on you
Leaving you to bruise
Leaving you to die
On the inside
With nothing you are left
Empty, broken, bleeding black
Infected with what’s gone
With what you need to know
With what you yearn to have
With what you should remember
From a life before
The happy times
You ought to see
In your memory
But they’re not there
They’re wiped away
No longer for you to replay
They escape you mind
And your heart
They leave you blind
In heart and eye
They leave you behind
Left alone to die
With the secrets you wish to hide
There’s nothing left
You are an empty shell
When all is gone
You’re left to live
In your own Hell
