Detector in one arm
Shovel in other
Swinging
Back, forth
Listening

Sensitivity high
Discrimination halfway
Knob switched to All Metal

Walking in cool breeze
Shoes stepping on
Soft, moist spring ground
As calm as still water
Resting in ditch

High pitched beep sounds
Detector sits on ground
I, digging, digging, digging

Soft soil
Shovel digs in
Wanting to find
Something good
Treasure

Sparkle catches my eye
Reflecting sun
I grabbed it

A diamond bracelet
Who knew
I’d become rich
This plain
Spring day

Running home
Head held high
I’m dreaming

March in door
Hold up treasure
To family’s
Where-did-you-find-that looks on their faces
So surprised

Me
A billionaire
Determined to find more

Detector in one arm
Shovel in other
Swinging
Back, forth
Listening
