Intricacies make miracles of words divine

Allow my mind-to the page-cry


Take anything, but my eyes

Allow the mortal body with beauty to sigh

When the earthly body doth die

The beauty fades- and with tears- know why

Take anything, but my speech
For centuries words make men bleed
When the earthly body doth die
Take my words- and nobly try

Take anything, but my life
Let thy light glow brilliant
And when the earthly body doth die
Let my heart- to the heavens- fly

I usually say my poems aloud as I write and I think you'd be surprised how spot on you were! I spoke it to myself in a very soft and slow manner :)

I LOVED the ending of your piece, very nice bringing back the past line. The old english was also something that added something to the piece, I don't think it would have had the same effect without it! The rhyming was well done and I liked your use of intricacies. Mind and divine was also very good! Good job!

Woah. This is absolutely amazing. I love how it's in old English. It's got that antique written feel but a modern meaning. It's really pretty. GREAT job!

Wow, this is an incredibly unique piece of poetry.  I've never seen anything like it on Teen Ink.  My only criticism is that after 'take anything' you don't really need those commas.

Nice poem.  I love the repitition and pattern.  Personally, I don't like Old English language, but it does impact the poem.  Also, you used not-overused, unique words.  Good job :)

This is really good, really well written. I've read a couple of your other works too, and I have to say that you've got a talent. :) In your spare time, could you check out my novel, "The Crow Medallion"? It only has two chapters so far, but I'm working on it. It's in the recently added part of sci-fi/fantasy novels.
