Grief, it seemed, drove Voldemort away - although Dumbledore would have said it was love. -Deathly Hallows

A gust of wind on a cold winter day
A short little shadow that’s dim in the shade
You pay no attention, but I’m there by your side
You have no time for me, you need time for your pride.

Whoever cared for a young little girl?
What is she worth, compared to the world?
I know you don’t love me, I must face the truth.
We’ve hit rock bottom, there’s nothing to lose.

For a moment, just a moment, I thought you were mine.
I thought I was special, but I guess I was blind.
For a while, just a while we conquered the world
Until the day I discovered, I wasn’t your girl.

There’s somebody else who has entered your mind,
So it’s in my best interest to leave US behind.
I wish you luck on winning her heart
If she has any sense, she’ll love you from the start.

Though there was never a Hello, I must say Goodbye.
And wish you well with a smile and a sigh.
I’ll love you forever, that much is sure.
So all I can do is wish you the world.
