Scared to let anyone close.
Not wanting to give them enough power to hurt you.
Hearing the cannons fire as your heart and head battle it out.
Struggling to figure out which one to trust.

Love, happiness, laughter.
Missing every second of it.
Scared you won't be satisfied.
Frightened that no matter what you do it won't be enough in the end.


Afraid of being held and having it all snatched away.
At the same time feeling untouched.
Felling the empty spot in your rib cage, waiting for someone to fill it.
Holding onto your loved ones with an iron grip, not wanting to lose anyone else.

Wanting to run away and never some back.
Grasping for something, anything to make you stay.
Living in heaven and hell at the same time.
Wondering, wishing, waiting, for the time when it will all just end.
