we are flies

We are all flies
trapped in the web of life
waiting, waiting, waiting
waiting for it to come
the thing that is to consume us
waiting for what will never be but the opposite
for the light
when all that will ever come is darkness
we fight as it consumes us trying to break free
as we dissolve into the darkness
