Affection
She slows down as she passes the window to catch her reflection
Focused in on herself she fails to notice
A boy inside stares back at her
He turns his head back to the front of the room
He tries to focus but his heart aches with affection
Hoping to himself he’ll get to see her once more
Is it fantasy or fate as she walks through the door?
She hands the teacher a note and takes a seat
Through his chest the boy can hear his heart beat
He gets the courage to smile at her
But she turns away
The bell rings and she vanishes into the crowed
The boy lowers his head, not feeling proud
Does this girl know what she has done to his soul?
His heart seems to have broken, never to be whole
