Sometimes we live in emptiness
Such dark and lonely nothingness,
In the shadow of regret
And the shackles of self-hatred.
But small things, the tiny small things
Bring us into life again,
They give us the glimmer of hope
When all hope is gone.
For me, it's your eyes
Your sparkling, dazzling, blue eyes,
As they smile back at me
And break my shackles for a moment.
It's when you laugh, I feel alive
And forget the unbearable pain.
For a while I feel happy
The weight of secrets lifted off of me.
We may seem to live in emptiness
Such dark and lonely nothingness,
But we are not alone
In the shackles of self-hatred.
Such dark and lonely nothingness,
In the shadow of regret
And the shackles of self-hatred.
But small things, the tiny small things
Bring us into life again,
They give us the glimmer of hope
When all hope is gone.
For me, it's your eyes
Your sparkling, dazzling, blue eyes,
As they smile back at me
And break my shackles for a moment.
It's when you laugh, I feel alive
And forget the unbearable pain.
For a while I feel happy
The weight of secrets lifted off of me.
We may seem to live in emptiness
Such dark and lonely nothingness,
But we are not alone
In the shackles of self-hatred.
