The trees’ cells may be impermeable to
That which the human’s cells are permeable to,
The trees' role in the environment may be to produce
That which humans hungrily consume,
The tree may be raised in nature’s motherly care
That which humans contend to destroy,

Having been brought up in the imposing society.
The tree’s wide branches may open upwards to soak in

The purity of the sun’s rays from above,
While humans, being closer to Hell,

Perform the Devil’s rituals.
The trees, as well as the humans, aspire, however,

To grow tall and strong.
The trees, as well as the humans, were, however

Made by God

I wrote this after discussing Emily Dickinson's poetry. Mine probably doesn't even come close... she's a genius.
