Just earth and ground.
The sun shines bright,
On green and brown.
Your breath is short,
Your heart speeds up.
On grass, not court,
Your steps match up.
The final turn,
The line ahead.
A winner to learn,
And tears to shed.
Time has passed,
The race is won.
But time to go,
Still time to run.
