A Poem about poems

A poem
Like a person
Is inquisitive
And curious
Begging to differ
Having what we prefer

Unlike a person
Our existence
Is to mean
Not to be

Like a person
(more so a lunatic)
Some go meow
Some go woof

All the same
Yet none alike
All must end
But those with meaning
Go with a bang
Leaving a footprint
Fresh
Forevermore

This was an assignment from Freshman English that I found. I'm sure there were certain requirements, but I can't remember them now. I printed out mine in the shape of a footprint.
