Look at me,
Designer jeans
Hollister top
Belly button ring.
I have to cut my hair
Just perfect,
Can’t risk looking uncool
Even for a day.
Shorts- skin tight,
Barely covering anything.
No “hip” label?
Don’t even bother,
I won’t try it on.
Countless hours spent
Perfecting looks.
Makeup caked on 14 year old skin.
Whiny voice, begging
Can’t I just go out?
Chores aren’t done,
Friends more important than
School
Responsibilities
Mo-om! I’ll do it later.
