Calm waters kiss my boats bow—the orange blue heavens

Intertwine

The sky and ocean becoming one like lovers. I know this life-

Fulfilling

Clear murky water—Oh, the salt still taunts my scars.

Tranquility:

Not a bird in the sky, nor seagull learning to fly—no gushing of

Winds

Destroying of sins—just the secrete whispers of the water and my

Soul.

Pole mounted with temptation hanging below—what gilled creature shall be

Vulnerable

To an unknown? I, the sailor, hear the screeching and rush of my

Line

Diving into the ocean depths inside a beautiful monster’s mouth.

Straining,

Sweating, burning fire as I reel him towards his death—arms and muscles continue to

Shed

And bleed. Veins burst—why do I leave myself alone? Oh,

Where

Did this shined creature bring my soul? Water fills my hungry lungs as I am

Lost

In the black-poisoned eyes of the gilled beauty. The spear snout

Taunts

My escape as its rigid body thrust deeper. Distorted from life—I free myself from its

Prison.

Body numb—limbs are under a motionless spell. How shall my eyes

See

Anything besides dark beauty-blue of entrapping water? Oh, what do I

See

As the sun slowly melts with the water—slight tossing of a

Breaking

Light—ship’s shadow kisses my return. Raw-bloody hands and

Face

Embrace the sweet atmosphere.

The poem can be taken in many ways. It's mostly about a force overtaking you, but in the end you survive and overcome.
