Howling dog
crying in the evening.
We swayed beneath the stars.
We rocked with our breathing.
I paused to reflect-
look from a strange angle.
The Father is angry,
I killed the last angel.
*
Hand in hand
I walked with Death
through the mouth of Hell.
Only Darkness was left.
Opened my eyes,
stared up above.
The arch of history
will fall back to love.
