In my desk drawer, there are
two paperclips
no eraser
an empty tape roll
lots of loose staples
the smell of crayon wax
a staple remover claw
a pair of orange scissors
notes and ideas
sweat
tears
a dried-up bottle of whiteout
a wrinkled stress ball
and lots of extra paper.
