Love is Like a Carousel

February 13, 2011
Sunday morning, after church,
The state fair is loud and busy.
Children families, sweet apple pies,
And gas exhaust from colorful rides.

No doubt the main attraction
is the Grand Carousel-
A wild, moving zoo.
Once you’re on,
You can’t get off,
Then what will you do?

Thrown into an endless loop-
You’ve paid life all your dimes.
It’s a joy ride or monotony
You’ll deal with all the time,

Love is like this carousel,
Keeps on spinning ‘round and ‘round
Full of laughs, memories,
Laughs and tears…
The carousel lasts for years and years.

But unlike this metal piece of junk,
The love between us never dies.
It lives, it breathes,
As we revolve-
Brings meaning to our lives.
