One phone call
can change your life
break your heart
make you cry

twist your heart in a knot
your head spinning
like a whirlwind

make you fall in love
head over heels
smile like the world is yours

leave you on the floor
you can't get up
struggling to breathe

shatters your dreams
shatters your life
into a million pieces

one phone call can
change your life
break your heart
make you cry

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem one time when I was hanging out with my friend. She was talking and all of a sudden her mom called and told her that her stepdad passed away.
