I’m just beginning
I don’t care what they say
Put me down if you want to
But my life starts today

I’m just beginning
The road’s stretched out ahead
Don’t know where I’m going
Unwritten, and unread

I’m just beginning
The pen’s in my hand
The story’s all mine now
And I’m in command

I’m just beginning
And I’m not looking back
All these people around me
They’ll get me on track

Because I’m just beginning
And I know before long
It will all turn out right
Because I can be strong
