When all your leaves have fallen you must have the strength to last all winter

I was stumbling blindly, I hope you never find me this way.
I was looking in the distance, I could use some assistance. If you may?
I'm hearing your voice, but i’ve made a different choice. What did you say?
And now you have gone, but I know someone else who will stay.

The moment that I step outside, I think of you and try to hide, my face.
But the wind will give me kisses, and the sun will hug me till I feel safe.
Because this world; she knows me better, and I love this kind of weather,
this earth is my hiding place.
So I will run and skip and jump until Mother Nature lets me know that
I've won this human race.

Every now and then, you slip into my mind.
But I wont let you in again. This is the last time.
Because you and I were never much.
There came a time when you gave up.
At first the thought I had was small,
and now i’m starting to feel her all.

Because the moment I step outside, I know she’s there I wont hide, my face
And her rain will give me kisses, and her soil will hug me till I feel safe.
Because this world; she knows me better, and I love this kind of weather.
The earth covers so much space
So I will let you go, and some day i’ll let you know if
I’ve won this human race.

And there came a time when I thought you weren't leaving,
but you took your time and then left my heart bleeding,
you were so fine, I guess looks can be deceiving
but I found some one else and ill never stop believing.

The moment that I walk outside, her sunny rays warm my entire face.
And the snow will give me kisses, and her grass will hug me till I feel safe.
Because this world: she shows me better, her love is an earthy sweater, I love this kind of weather. This earth could use a thankful embrace.
So we will laugh and sing and love and pass the memories on.
until we’ve won this human race.
