The thick bitter skin
The juice oozes
And trickles down my chin

Around and
Around I go
Till only a thin
Spindly
Core is left
To brown
To rot
The dark brown seeds
Wedged in the center
Then it is carelessly
Thrown onto the ground
Next spring
A tree.
