The Year Our Family Grew

There are a lot of great memories
from all those winters past.
But the one I think of often,
is the year our family grew.
It used to be us cousins,
and our aunts and uncles too.
But now we have more company
from some of our close friends.
Our grandmothers and grandfathers have joined us,
and we talk with them and laugh.
My cousin now is married,
and we see her husband here.
Our family how it grew,
and now we need more space.
some people will think this tragic,
but me I think this magic
