Do you possess
the Keys of your own
Salvation?
Sins you've
Committed,
Is Heaven
Forfeited?
In the end,
Secrets we keep
are Buried in their
Own Tomb.
Passed on,
Our Memories
Passed on.
Celebrated Life,
Celebrated Love.
One in the
Same,
Salvation and
Damnation.
It cannot matter
When the old
enters His Gates.
Fingerprints they've
Left in
Our Skin
When skin
is left Behind.
Laughter,
is the best
Celebration
for Life.
Spirit is only
Revealed
after Ethereal
become Dust.
"Ashes to Ashes
and
Dust to Dust."
When Old
Lie down forever,
Remember.
Laughter Remembers
Best.
Spirit
Reveals Herself
Centuries after.

The author's comments:
I'm not really sure what was going through my mind at the time I wrote it. Reading it now I always think of a wake. I suppose this poem is some sort of comfort for those attending a funeral or who have lost someone recently. But I honestly don't know what was going through my mind.
