I wish you were them instead.
I wish you were those voices,
Those faces,
Those words,
The songs, the poems, the raps,
The feelings.
I have these unrecognizable voices
Whisper meaningless promises in my ear.
A thousand of their phrases,
Still does not equal
Even one of your words.
