I am athlete, but my leg is broken,
I am a musician, but I am deaf,
I am a carpenter, but my tools are damaged,
But I am still striving.
I am breathing, but my lungs are unhealthy,
I am a golfer, but the courses are flooded,
I am warm, but my clothes are dirty,
But I am still trying.
I am a reader, but I am blind,
I am a doctor, but my pager is off,
I am a writer, but my pen isn’t working,
But I am still living.
