It laughs at us
It chuckles
Watching us suffer
Watching us endure
Its howling melody
As the crisp winter wind
Blows at our freezing bodies
Colder
Colder
The temperature goes down
Yet the winter’s song
Simply chuckles
Getting louder, and louder
Chilling our bones
Its bittersweet melody
Continues humming in our ears
The more we hate it
The harder it laughs
The better it sings
Taunting, Teasing, Hurting
It blows its fiercest
Its cruel melody hums in our ears
Like a ludicrous lullaby
Taunting, Teasing, Hurting us
Until
Its melody dies down
Now just a steady beat
Waiting
For spring to take over
And sing her song
