The Life of an Abandoned Puppy

Long, hard, hours
The sadness in his eyes filled the rusty old cage
He whimpered but new he had no chance
His ears flopped down
And his scrawny body lay hopelessly on the frigid tiles
He looked out through the cold bars
Hoping that someone would walk by
But nothing
He knew it was over.
