Secrets
I have secrets
They haunt my consciousness,
They enchant my dreams.
I know I’m broken
But I feel brand new
When there’s no ideal to compare with.
I want big things
For myself, for my family
For you.
I sing alone
When nobody’s there
And I’m not judged.
I dance alone
Like it’s pouring rain
But my curtains are closed.
I have conversations
In my head
As I smile at strangers in the mall.
But I don’t speak.
I don’t sing to them.
I can’t dance with them.
I don’t know how to achieve the things I want.
I cannot be fixed.
And I keep my secrets.
