Raw Ankles
My sleazy boss is my personal hero.
He does not have to wear uncomfortable heels,
or voluminous false eyelashes.
He does not care about aging,
or other people's expectations.
But I have to be luminous, beautiful, perfection.
I spend my life at work every year,
not defined by my actions but by my
foundation, lipstick, manicure.
I'm told beauty can be anything you want,
but whoever said that made a mistake.
My boss is unbearable, unethical, ugly,
but he is a real person.
And I envy him.
