And there lies an apple
fallen, beneath an orange tree
from where it came, we cannot see
a fallen orange, it cannot be

We say the apple must be special
to fall in such an awkward place
and be found as a peculiar case
alone amidst another race

Without explanation to be had
the apple remains a mystery
to those below who cannot see;
above, a lively apple tree
