The Box was given long ago
A gift from a nameless being
Locked
To stay locked
Forever
The key was given
Along with trust
But the trust was shattered
The box opened
The Monsters
Released
Greed
Anger
Jealousy
Lust
Laziness
And Pride
The Anchients realized their mistake
The tried to recapture the Beasts
But the Beasts captured them
Today
We have forgotten
The Beasts roam freely
Unchallenged
And the Box?
The Box lays
Stil opened
Beneath the dust
Of centuries passed
The Monsters have beaten us
And the Nameless One
Looks down with a shame
For we broke his trust
And opened his Box
Releasing
The Sins
The Monsters
Who will forever roam these lands
Claiming us
Changing us
To do Their evil will
All because
We unlocked the lock
And opened the Box

Basically a Pandora's Box poem. I love that story.
