A tear fell from my eye
When I saw the innocent go by.
The stain of blood upon His back,
The noble brow creased with pain.
A tear fell from my eye
As he stumbled with His heavy load.
But no hand helped Him up,
Just whipped Him into slump.
A tear fell from my eye
As I saw what we had done-
Condemned the One and Only true Son.
Whom we should have loved.
A tear fell from my eye
When I saw the hate
Of those
Who gambled for his clothes.
A tear fell from my eye
When He bowed His head
And died,
The one who should be glorified.
A tear fell from my eye
To know He carried our sin.
To hell He went,
Because of His love for us.
But no more tears fall now,
Since He rose on the third day,
He saved us
And now I rejoice!
