Her first gasp of air was more like a scream
Shattered was the quiet calm.

The nights that followed were shrill with cries
No longer was the house filled with calm.

And the years ahead were hurricanes of noise
She never was once cool and calm.

On her deathbed she cursed and fought
So that one forgot there ever was calm.

One night the empty bed lay cold
And under the dirt, there finally was calm.
