As dawn awakes I step onto the field.
Willing to accept any challenge that I will not yield.
As the morning breeze whisks through the air.
I hope in my mind that the umpires will be fair.
Walking around while kicking the dirt.
Praying to God that today I be protected and encounter no hurt.
Mind set on the game and ready to perform.
However challenging it may be, I prepare to win the storm.
Not taking this lightly because this is not just a game.
This is my calling and my life, not expecting others to feel the same.
Running to my position in the outfield ready to play.
It is then when I close my eyes and send up a prayer … game time.
