SCARS
I remember when I felt the pain by my eye,
The blood and panic of my young mind.
I remember the mark it left on me,
The scar to remind me not to do that again.
Now I feel pain again, this time in my heart,
No blood, no medicine required, just heartbreak.
Now I see the mark he left in me,
The scar to remind me not to do that again.
I look forward to my future pains, bound to happen,
Things that will change me, grow me.
I look forward to the marks that will be left,
The scars to remind me not to do that again.
