I know that I'm supposed to love you,
But I don't.
I know that I'm supposed to respect you,
But I can't.
I know that you're supposed to be my role model,
But I don't want to be like you.
I want to be everything that you're not.
I want to love one person,
and stay with them forever
Have that one special relationship,
that is stronger than anything
I want to work out my problems,
and not let them out physically
I want to love,
but not in the way that you do.

I want to give respect,
to the amazing people around me
I want to be a good person in return,
not one full of lies
I want to stand up fro what I believe in,
but not lose my temper
I want to respect you,
but your making it so hard.

I've learned how to love,
by not having a relationship like yours.
I've learned how to solve my problems,
by not crossing boundaries.
I've learned how to respect,
by pretending to respect you.
I've learned how to tell the truth,
by ignoring all of your lies.
I've learned how to have a role model,
by simply not following you.
So thanks.
I've learned to do the opposite of my "role model",
and hopefully things will be OK
