They don't know what it's like
to see your brother's best friend,
once so happy and carefree,
lying lifeless in a coffin.
Or to lay a young boy to rest
on what would have been his tenth birthday.
They don't know hot it feels
to see the parents' sad faces,
mourning the loss of their children;
knowing there's nothing you can do
to make the hurt and sorrow go away.
They don't know the pain and sadness
that comes with knowing that never again
will you see their smiling faces,
or hear their joyous laughter.
They say they know what you're going through;
they know just how you feel.
But that's exactly what they don't know.
