I Should Not Exist.

I am the square root of negative one,
Or the fairytale you used to read.
I am a figment; a fleeting dream;
A passing notion in the corner of your brain.

I am everything you are not,
But nothing you wish you could be.

I am the thought that gets dismissed,
Or the idea that gets left behind.

I am the words you only speak when you are alone.
I am the intrusive ink scratched from your pristine paper.

I live, but I am not alive.
I subsist, but I am never truly seen.
I speak, but I am never really heard.

I am the square root of negative one,
Or the fairytale you used to read
I am a figment; a fleeting dream;
A passing notion in the back corner of your mind.

I am imaginary.
I am unreal.
I am all a lie.

Such an illusory being should not exist.
I should not exist.

I should not exist.
