I asked if i could run,
he said "youll never be fast enough"
I asked if i could swim
he said "the laps will be too tough"
I asked about second place
he said "thats not good enough"
i asked if i could try something new
he said "how bout you master the old"
i asked why he was rude
he said "the world is mean"
i asked why he has to stomp on my heart
he said "im preparing you for your part."
i asked why he broke my soul
he said "so that when the next boy breaks your heart, you can sew yourself back together"
i asked why he leaves when i cry
he said " so i wont have to see an angel so sad"
I asked why he cares
he said "your the only thing thats a leader and a follower a sucessor and a failure an accomplishment and a disappointment."

This makes me sad, unfortunately I can relate to a loved one telling you you're not good enough, but it still hurts like crazy. This is a very good poem...and by the way: as the old addage goes-1st is the worst and 2nd is the best :)
