I reach for my dream
But you slap my hand back
I run towards my future
But you just won’t let go
You won’t let me grow up
You want that little girl forever

But I'm not so little anymore
You can’t hold me back
Like you did when I was so small
I am growing up and preparing to go
I’m getting ready to leave here
I’m getting ready to live my life

But I will always love you
Because you were always there
When I needed you most
But now its time for me to depart
I need to grow up
And I need you to let go
