The Darkness of Time

We walk the streets of unforgiving nights,
The edge of darkness creeping on our heels,
Binding with our shadows,
Don’t look back, don’t look back,
Keep walking, keep walking,
Run, run, run,
Our hearts are racing,
Our vision blurring,
The street lights go out and all is silent,
You’re hidden by darkness,
Consumed by black,
The past unfolds before you,
Like a tarnished glimmer ahead,
Memories playing out as if it were yesterday,
It takes time to heal,
Time to breath,
Time to see,
Time is our enemy.
