They told me to close my eyes
Kiss the amphibian
Look through the witch’s lies
Drop off my tail fin at the deep end
Wake up from my Beauty Sleep
Believe that I was the Fairest of them all
Fall in love with a pale-faced foreigner
Confess my identity as I prevented his fall
If I drop my hair, he’d break me prisoner
But…
I opened my eyes
And I couldn’t look pass his Beastly feud
I fell for the witch’s prickly lies
His kiss did not awaken my delude
That magic Carpet faltered and I broke
I shattered that talking two-faced mirror
By myself, the neck of that Dragon, I choked
He came with my glass slipper
I told him –keep it…
For I’m burying this hallucinated castle
Brick by cemented brick
No more Princess in shackles
The tale of Reality
My preferred enchanted story

This poem speaks about the realization of a fairy tale being just that...a fairy tale.
