force me to love you

If an animal runs away
when you come near.
You don’t yell at it to love you
it will only runs further.
Yet you refuse to allow me to come to you
on my own time
your words grab me by the collar
an tighten a grip around my muzzle.
Not allowing the smallest protest
from the one you say you love.
You make me hate you so much,
that on the inside my anger thrives
and with it the same fear as before.
The false love I was forced to give you
could have been real
if you only had the patience
for me to come to you
