Why can’t I hate you?
You have given me plenty of reason to
Yet instead of hate I still love

This love is to painful and unkind
All of the things we have done together
Do they mean nothing?

I want to hate you
Because I hate loving you
But I don’t know if you love or hate

I hope you one of these emotions for me
I would rather you hate me and think about me
Than you not feel either way and never think of me

I hate that you don’t want me
I hate the tears that you bring
I hate the way you lie
I hate my love for you

I wrote this poem after I began to think about a person whom I love dearly but brings on pain.
