For dad

It was October 2009
the time i went to my first haunted house
it was close to 10 o’clock
the doors were about to open
and we were first in line.

And then we heard it...
Creek......
the door opened
we walked right into a house of nightmares
snickers carried through the room
all i could think is don’t scream...




don’t scream...





don’t scream...
whispers make the hair rise
on the back of my neck
don’t scream...
if i scream
i will be defeated
walking through the whole house
with a smile on my face
we came to a maze
with clowns all coming close
having us go around






and around








and around
throughout the maze


we finally get out of the house
the smiled is glued to my face
