She sits back
&she watches
as you shower her
with your love
with your understanding
Oh how she wishes
she could be that girl
that she could be the one
to call you baby,
say I love you
and be in your arms
but she knows she can’t
because you don’t love her
you love someone else
and the realization
it cuts like a knife
