Addiction

The whispers call her names.
Drawing her closer and closer.
There is no escape.
Her cries can't overcome the voices.
She battles her mind.
Fighting them off.
Yet they still apear.
She is getting weaker.
Just one more time they cry.
She that it's wrong.
Her life is on the line.
Clinging to what little light she has left.
Everything will be fine they shout.
She thinks she is alone.
Thinking only her addiction is by her side.
I try to reach her before it's too late.
She fades as she gives into darkness.
I call her name.
There is no answer.
I no longer see her light.
She is gone.
Leaving the whispers to get me.
